No one starts with a character, exarchs are no longer 12 pt upgrades (thanks Phil), and there's a distinct difference in why you would want to buy a character for each unit. Admittedly a few are godlike in close combat and should be taken, but others are rather unnecessary.Hereticnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5655986553938534450.post-73424022622916001102013-11-14T14:20:36.185-05:002013-11-14T14:20:36.185-05:00I completely agree. I feel the design team may just be taking the easy way out, and it ends up changing the style of the army.

That's basically what i talked about in my own post, that they will probably get a demon like overhaul. Sure they will play better, but with a different style.thegravemindnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5655986553938534450.post-79580544866012768442013-11-14T12:09:59.352-05:002013-11-14T12:09:59.352-05:00Oh I can get behind Tyranids needing something to ...Oh I can get behind Tyranids needing something to make their little bugs work. But should that rework involve removing the staple of the army's design (i.e. Synapse Networking)? I get the people are taking the simple approach by just not fielding the little guys and calling it a day, but that doesn't solve the problem in my opinion.

How does one make the army about the horde, without massively changing it's identity as an army?Godfreynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5655986553938534450.post-20409390732637647342013-11-14T11:34:55.851-05:002013-11-14T11:34:55.851-05:00Ok, let's see if I can't hit a few points....Ok, let's see if I can't hit a few points. For mc vs foot hoard, one problem is that they are generally cc based, and with random charge distance and overwatch hurts hoard. Taking a wound from overwatch on an mc sucks, but taking it on a squad can pull the assault distance.

Also warrior seargents are a rumor I've been fearing for a while. I feel like it is a copp out for fixing the army. The reasons stealers exist is to opperate out of synapse because synapse is supposed to be a limitation. Having warriors in each squad means you don't have to worry about staying in synapse range. It also makes it harder for people to kill synapse to cripple units.

Another problem they've had is that they seem to have trouble making infantry viable for nids. Just having the bodies isn't cutting it any more. None of the troop choices can really hurt vehicles, few can survive long enough to make it to combat and win.

I had a recent post on my own blog about tyranids, can't link from my phone, but its there.thegravemindnoreply@blogger.com
