Greetings Gentlereaders,
While I haven't had the opportunity to get in any 40k in quiet a while I've been able to get plenty of Magic in over the past month and a half. I've been getting my feet wet in Modern and learning about archetypes, the extent of netdecking and how to play better through being punished for misplays. Chatting with Godfrey, Son of Horus and Corvus about getting armies built for when or if I find people to play against has gotten me thinking. There seems to be an opposite mindset between the two gaming communities regarding netdecking or listing as the case may be.

Five Commandments of the Space Marines
Hello and good day dear readers! As some of you may have noticed, a new space marine codex just released a short while ago. Thumbing the pages of it has taken me back to 2010, when VT2, over on 3++, published his space marine codex review. Not long after its publication, users across various forums began referring to it as the "Space Marine Bible." Reading it had a profound effect on my perception of not only my space marines, but of 40k in general. I sought to construct my Necron review in similar fashion, and with the release of the 6th Edition Space Marine codex, I believe I'll try my hand at hoping to construct a review capable of earning such a title, as lofty a goal as such may be. Beginning such an undertaking starts by laying a solid foundation. Thus do I pen the five commandments of the Adeptus Astartes.

A Revitalized Look and Feel
Hey everyone.
You have probably noticed the website has been changing bit by bit over the last few weeks and months. Unfortunately this lowly grot can only work in his free time, and so it has been an off and on process. But the updates have been a long time coming, and we on staff hope you enjoy the newest additions to the site. Our newest changes include adding an actual background, the Disqus comment features, tweaking the layout of the home page, and adding a Gallery Page.
There are still a few more pieces left to do before we are finished with what we hope will be the permanent look and feel. These include getting some ad space on the site, as well as a brand new logo and banner art for the page. I'm excited to see these when they're finished up and added. As always, we hope this keeps your time spent on the site as smooth and immersive as possible.
Cheers!

A Closer Look: Part V
Hello everyone. Since Space Marines got their shiny new codex, there has been a few musings on one of their newest inclusions: Grav Weapons. I am for one excited about these things, if not because of their usability, but for the simple fact that it's something new. It's a new option to add more variables in what marines can do and how. This might be something that breaks up the boring tenancy of seeing the same armies everywhere if people allow themselves to look past their upfront appearance.
But with these little buggers came somewhat of a conundrum. As for their use against infantry, they seem pretty straight forward, given their their unique means of wounding. Where the real confusion comes from is how they are used against vehicles. Some people feel there is a doubt or an argument to be made for how they work on both sides of the fence. So given that, I decided to poke around and see for myself just how they work.

Hobby Table VII
Hello Everyone, and welcome back! I received a plethora of positive responses to the first of this series within a series (yes... this article has achieved series-ception), and as such I feel like it might be fun to add to it.
Remember this article is based on the idea of bringing some storytelling to the 40k universe, and after a massive scale game of 40k held by myself and many others, I felt it could be a fun task to bring some life to it beyond the models. The last time we found ourselves reading a report sent to the Ordo Heretics by First Prefect Alea Nortellus of the Tyron System. Of course, none of the occurrences which took place in the previous article were a part of the actual game itself, but was used to set up the setting, characters who will return in this installment, and of course, leave you with some thoughts as to what terrible threat looms on the Horizon for the populace of the Tyron System. Now we shall continue that report. Hopefully you're as eager as I am to see what happens next.
