Welcome readers, to the third part of my Space Marine review: Honor the Codex. Already we've discussed special rules and Chapter Tactics, as well as the Warlord Table and Relics. Today, we follow up on those discussions by examining the characters associated with each Tactic. We'll be going in the order the codex presents them in. Most of them aren't exceptional, but there's a few gems. Ultimately these characters have the problem that they're built for close combat, and that's not too much of something that your average list out of this book wants to do, leaving them over costed and underwhelming. So without further ado, away we go!

Guest Article: Sisters of Battle Codex Review
It was one of those moments of such mixed feelings when the Sisters of Battle received their new codex throughout the entire 40k community. While most armies receive a large amount of time on the GW website's front, and snag a bunch of fancy new printed books, models, and such... this update came not with a bang, but rather a wimper. The models have still yet to be updated, or even converted to Resin or Plastic, leaving many confused as to the reason for this sort of half-update. However, it is a fine move for anyone who has the army as this has made the army a bit more relevant on the large scale.
I had planned to do a review just to give a quick idea of what we could expect to see from this book, but before I could write even the first few thoughts down in a draft, Brother A. came to us with the first part of his own review, and asked that we publish it for him. So it's off to another Guest Article, this time delving into the newly revised Sisters of Battle.
Cheers!

40k MMORPG Public Forum Opens
So with the license to the 40k mmorpg picked up, work has been going steady to get this title up and running. The designers have produced some excellent information and prep videos featuring the slightest tidbits of gaming details. They have even started their own armies to get more into the game, which is cool in my book.
Today I received an email that their public forum has opened. So if you are interested in chatting with other like-minded gitz, check out their forums
Cheers!

Let's Be Friends! - Dark Angels
Hello again, for the second time in a week! I hope you guys can keep up with me, because I've got a lot of content to keep coming. In this episode of Let's Be Friends!, we'll look at Dark Angles. You know, those guys who keep popping up in our articles but usually get a "pass on these guys" verdict? The big reason they've been getting a bad grade as allies is that this is designed as a primary detachment codex. Two separate troop swap options, and a host of rules that require a ton of in-codex models to maximize mean that these guys can bring friends, but aren't likely to be a friend. So, away we go!

Honor the Codex: Pt. 2 Warlord Traits, Relics & Wargear
Hello and welcome to our second part of our review of the 6th Edition Space Marine codex. As a primer to the series, we laid out some ground rules for a basic understanding of Space marines, and our first part took a look at the various special rules associated with the Big Blue Book. Before we can dive into the army list proper though, we've got just one last piece of prep work, and that is looking at our warlord traits and armory. If you need to catch up on the first part of the series, do that, and then we'll dig in after the break!

Guest Article: Heresy in the Library Continues
There were several amongst our readers who where kind enough to inform me that Trooper's first appearance on the Blog was not only well formed, but that they wanted to see more of his work. Having passed along the good word to the avid 40k lore enthusiast, he has given me his follow up article to be posted for your enjoyment. It's time to delve back into Black Library's 40k series.

Plasma vs. Grav Tech: The Showdown
General greetings, and welcome to the second installment of The Showdown. With the Space Marine codex hot off the presses, the masses of the internet have begun to sift through its pages in search of the ever popular "optimized net-list." While my feels on the codex vary, it looks like a solid codex with several good choices. That said, it does feel some options can be much more useful than others with very little effort. But that is not the point of this article. This showdown stems from the grav-weaponry introduced to the Marine players as a genuinely new trick they have to bring to the table. But given it's use, and it's fairly direct competition from plasma weapons based on point cost, stats, and who it is that can bring these weapons, it is this comparison with plasma that strikes most when it comes to the question, "How viable are the new Grav weapons?" So lets take a look and find out.

Let's Be Friends! - Chaos Space Marines
Giving us a one two punch of darkness, comes our look at allies for Chaos Space Marines! These guys have access to a lot more friends than what their Daemonic counterparts do, and all of them offer something pretty darn amazing. To me, the biggest reason to look at most of these allies is because for a (mostly) minimal tax, they replace your cultists, which is awesome! Cultists aren't bad by any means, and certainly work in the right list, but some of these allies ought make you question their necessity or validity. So, let's try to keep an open and evil mind as we examine those who are willing to ally themselves with the servants of the dark gods.
