Let's Be Friends! - Sisters of Battle

Welcome to the desolate wastes readers, noting around for as far as the eye can see. This is the land time forgot. A land of metal, poorly sculpted faces, and quite possibly the only codex to make Tyranids say "I'm sorry you're so bad." Yes, this is the badlands of the Sisters of Battle Adepta Sororitas. Sorry, gotta keep up on those names we can actually protect! Maybe if we make some friends though, things wouldn't be so... horribly barren out here. Can anyone help us out?

Let's Be Friends! - Orks

Hello and good day readers, as we hop in the wayback machine and examine allies for the oldest codex in the game: the Orks. That's right, the Orks are the only remaining 4th edition codex, and even Sisters of Battle have been updated to 6th before these guys. Regrettably, these guys are all but absent from tournament tables, and have been for some time. So, let's see if making some new friends can put some pep back in their step and bring the greenskins forward into the top 6th edition tables.

Let's Be Friends! - Necrons

Greetings, salutations, and welcome, to this week's installation of Let's Be Friends! You'll notice that the above headline seems to be a bit ahead of where we'd expect to be with the series. Worry not dear readers, for I have left the allies matrices of the Imperial Guard and Knights in the extremely capable hands of our own Godfrey. He has significantly more experience with each of those armies as a primary detachment than I do, and thus I feel confident that he will be better equipped to provide the best breakdowns possible, especially in the wake of the new Astra Militarum. That said though, I missed including this blurb as a part of my Tomb World Awakens series, and so now, almost a year after the conclusion of that series, the epilogue is stapled on.

Let's Be Friends! - Grey Knights

Ah the Grey Knights, the scourge of that final year of 5th edition. The fluff was atrocious, the rules felt overbearing, and the army was monetarily cheap to boot. But then 6th edition came in and changed all that. Suddenly, the shoebox army wasn't feasible. And thus, did the most hateful and suspicious of the Imperium decide that having friends might not be a bad idea. In fact, they decided it was such a good idea that they would work with just about anyone. Odd.

Let's Be Friends! - Eldar

Dear friends, it has been far too long and I have been negligent of those of you who need honor no codex. Thus does this piece herald the triumphant return of Let's Be Friends! But how many friends do the Eldar need? Read on to find out.

Honor the Codex: Pt. 10 Let's be Friends!

Well, now we're in quite the pickle. I have two styles of writing and two article series colliding in this same single piece. That's right, we're examining allies for the big blue book. So, what's an author to do? Should I tackle this as I have every other LBF? Do I treat it as part of HtC? The title suggests that I have chosen the latter over the former, but is this truly the case? Read on and find out!

Let's Be Friends! - Dark Eldar (And Other Thoughts)

Hey there everyone! I'm back after over a two week long hiatus (courtesy of an anniversary, nerf guns, and zombies), bringing with me our shortest article in the LBF series of articles, an examination of the Dark Eldar and what they can achieve when allied with their less malicious space elf brethren. Also, while I've got the page space, I thought I'd take a moment or two to post some of my musings on the nature of this series, and on Allies in general. That said, let's get down to it.

Let's Be Friends! - Dark Angels

Hello again, for the second time in a week! I hope you guys can keep up with me, because I've got a lot of content to keep coming. In this episode of Let's Be Friends!, we'll look at Dark Angles. You know, those guys who keep popping up in our articles but usually get a "pass on these guys" verdict? The big reason they've been getting a bad grade as allies is that this is designed as a primary detachment codex. Two separate troop swap options, and a host of rules that require a ton of in-codex models to maximize mean that these guys can bring friends, but aren't likely to be a friend. So, away we go!

Let's Be Friends! - Chaos Space Marines

Giving us a one two punch of darkness, comes our look at allies for Chaos Space Marines! These guys have access to a lot more friends than what their Daemonic counterparts do, and all of them offer something pretty darn amazing. To me, the biggest reason to look at most of these allies is because for a (mostly) minimal tax, they replace your cultists, which is awesome! Cultists aren't bad by any means, and certainly work in the right list, but some of these allies ought make you question their necessity or validity. So, let's try to keep an open and evil mind as we examine those who are willing to ally themselves with the servants of the dark gods.

Let's Be Friends! - Chaos Daemons

In my last article, I promised you guys that I'd be hard at it this week. Luckily for me, there's a few armies with "small" matrices, and one of these is Chaos Daemons. And boy, is their matrix a quickie. Evidently nobody likes these guys. Evidently, these guys are the baddest of the bad, since not even most of the traditional "disorder" races really get along with concentrated evil mixed with cannot be. The only people who can get along with them, worship them as gods. Traitor guard is yellow with them, seeming to show that though they are capable servants, all those tanks get in the way of fully committing to the darkest servitude. Chaos space marines are all buddy buddy with them as brothers in arms, but even that is a dubious term, given that Daemonic Instability prevents too much cooperation between villains. Nevertheless, Daemons do have allies, and good ones at that. So, without further ado, let us call upon the ruinous powers.

Let's Be Friends! - Blood Angels

Hey guys, Corvus here to warn you of a whirlwind week in blogging for me! I owe you guys something in the neighborhood of 3 or 4 weeks worth of Friends articles (all forthcoming this week), as well as a GenCon breakdown. Also this week, I'm hoping to have a space marine rumor dissection in advance of the White Dwarf release.  Likewise, as soon as we have the space marine codex, we will be bringing you our next podcast! So, with those pleasantries and apologies out of the way, I bring you the Blood Angels allies matrix!

Let's be Friends! - Black Templar

Hello readers and welcome to the first official post in my series about the allies matrix, Let's be Friends! In this inaugural article, I'll begin with the first army on the matrix, the Black Templar. These guys are currently the oldest army in the game. Let's find out if making some new friends can help them mitigate some of the ailments that come with their age.
