Hey guys, Corvus and Havoc here with our review or discussion on the particulars of the '7th Edition' Tau codex. There's an extensive model release, but the rules updates themselves are surprisingly lacking. What's this mean for the fish and for GW? Tune in and find out!

RobPod #28: Mechanicum Series - Part III
Hello everyone, and welcome back. I'm continuing my stay on Martian soil with another installment to my running series, this time I am joined by Trooper as we dive into two Black Library publications. Novel reviews are normally a part of the Into the Black Library or Heresy in the Library series', but given the specialty of the topic, we figured they fit better here. Today we're covering Mechanicum and Cybernetica. So strap in for some bionic hi-jinx and enjoy.

RoBPod #26: Campaign Event

Just a week ago, Godfrey, Havoc, UltimateDave and myself all got the opportunity to attend a campaign style event, hosted by Battle Mallet Games in Martinsville. For most of us, this was the first big, organized 40k event we had been to since college events at Game Preserve Bloomington. We all ha d alot of thoughts and feelings about the event, and decided to talk about how the game plays in practice rather than in theory for a change.

RoBPod #22: Khorne Daemonkin
Havoc joins Godfrey and I for this especially red edition of the podcast. The three of us talk about Khorne Daemonkin, including what it does to buff out the assault phase, compensate for Khorne hating stupid magic, and allow for unique ways for players to spend more money! Likewise, make sure to check out our associated reference links.

RobPod 20: They're Back!
In the Grim Dark caverns of the Grim Dark worlds, in the Grim Dark Universe of 40k, they awaken. They have risen once again to lay claim to the universe, and the top-tier spot of the tournament scene! Welcome back folks to this installment of the RobPod - our review of the new Codex: Necrons! This new codex clocks in at an impressively balanced level of "really damn good, but just this side of broken (mostly)." So join Corvus and I as we bend over and take it up the... *cough* review the codex!
Warning... this is a long cast. Long Cast is loooooooooooong. So be sure you get plenty of booze, and be ready to drink.
Cheers!

RoBPod #17: 40k Exstravaganza!
Welcome back, and welcome to the first of many things to come from our 40k Extravaganza! Gathering many of our closest friends and their armies, Corvus, Trooper, Havok, and Ultimate Dave and myself gathered for a weekend of pure 40k goodness. With many games recorded for our re-emerging Battle Report line, the RobPod kicks off this revitalized call to arms from the Rites of Battle Staff.
So join us for our general round table discussion on 40k! Many a thought are shared on many a topic... and while it may be somewhat disjointed, grab a beer and settle in for some good old fashioned chatting about our most favorite to loath grim darkness.

Faith and Purity: Grey Knight Codex Review (With podcast!)
Hey everybody, Corvus here, and in the wake of my "War. Game." post, I decided it was high time to get my feet wet with a 7th edition codex. After some browsing of other cidices, I was left with the new Grey Knights, something I have off and on referred to as "Objectively the worst codex this side of Tyranids," a dubious honor I didn't even award to Orks or DEldar. So, what made me decide to take the plunge? Hit the gap and read on, or tune in. It's not a narrated post mind you, so the experiences are unique!

Podcast #15 - The Orkiest Codex Review!
Oi Ya Gitz! Godfrey here bringing with me the Orkiest book 40k has for our newest codex review. Not unlike the Grim Dark, Orks is here ta stay, and so with my love for the army finally able to be shown by playing the army, I think it's only fair to let you guys know what I think about the codex. It's a roller coaster of thoughts from ranging from the high notes to the low notes of the book. I do go on a little at the beginning about 7th edition codex mechanics as it was the first of the new style, but I do take it to review the book more or less cover to cover. So grab a brewski and listen up as I review the Bestest Codex!
Cheers!

Podcast #14 - The Rumors of the Dark City, and X-Wing!
Who says Tuesday can't be a good day? For today Rites of Battle gives you another Podcast!
Hey folks, join Havok and myself for a look into some thoughts on the dark denizens of the Webway, as well as some of the rumored happenings for the coming months in the Grim Dark. With all of the changes to the core game rules, there might just be a place for the Dark Eldar as new ground rules for army updates like unique new units, Maelstrom cards, formations, potent relics, and warlord traits are added to their now aged codex.
But we have more in store for you than simply 40k. I managed to get my first game of X-Wing in, and I'll let you know what I thought of the whole thing. We have been really enjoying a chance at branching out into new and more diverse game systems to cover here on Rites. So much so, that a new Lexicanum may be brought on soon. But more on that another time.
For now, enjoy the cast!

Podcast #12 - Pregaming, the 7th Edition Way
With the dawn of a new book upon us, we felt it prudent to do a "before and after snapshot" of 7th, both in the lead up, and in the follow through. For those of you looking for my companion article, it's here. So, tune in and enjoy the ride.

Podcast #11: The Astra Militarum
Join Godfrey, Trooper, and our guest Ultimate Dave 469 as they discuss the release of the new Imperial Guard (or Astra Militarum if your silly and actually use that name). The book certainly shows some signs of improvement over it's predecessor, but does fall a little short in terms of the potential it had. Its a roller coaster ride filled with ups.... and the downs........

Podcast #10 - The State of the Game
.jpg)
Welcome back to the podcast! All four of us are putting our heads together and looking at 6th edition after the past 18 months. We talk about Knights, and what is and isn't working for us with things on the whole. Also, included in our opening, is a copy of the home game (we all know what we do during these kinds of speeches!). Be sure to play along and enjoy a few hours with all of us.
