Making Sense out of Cents

So as most everyone in the community is aware, the prices are going up generally across the board in 40k.  These days, you can count on relatively few things, but it seems some of the few constants are taxes suck, gas is expensive, and GW will raise their prices.  So why does this happen?  What are we to do?

Fallen, Fallen...

Is fifth edition!  Looking at the picture to the right you can see the 40k essentials page from GW's page this evening.  If you will notice, you can no longer purchase the 5th edition rulebook from Games Workshop.  It can be that items are no longer available to purchase, but to have an item removed is rather rare.  When something is removed it is usually replaced by something new within a month or so.  With the Big Rulebook being removed we can see that the edition change should be coming very soon.  What will be in there I can't say, but the death knell of 5th edition is official.

Something is Rotten in the State of 40k

Good evening readers,

I'm afraid the only thing that has been slower than waiting for a new article on this site is Ishmael and my finding something new to write about in regards to 40k.  Being fascinated by puzzles, I tend to enjoy writing about rules and how I want to use them in my armies.  Sadly my armies, C:SM, Eldar and Tau, have not had anything change about their rules since January and, in fact, there has been no new rules release or FAQ since January for any army.

40k: Art or Science?

Hey Folks!  I thought it'd be fun to post up this little chat and see what you all thought.  Believe it or not, I actually got the idea for this article from my girlfriend, who puts up with my addiction to the little plastic space men.  You know it's true love when you find that.

Anyway, the thought comes to me on how people approach 40k.  A lot of factors come into play when determining how people view it, including things like what they do for a living, and how they think.  The game has what I perceive to be two basic views, Art and Science.  Now by art, I'm not referring to the hobby aspect of it at all.  This is sheerly about one's approach to understanding and acting in the game.  So I guess I'll try to describe these as best as possible.

A "Touch" of Terrain

So some people say that on rare occasions, they catch a bug and start painting terrain.  Well if that be the case, I must have caught an elephant or something.  Needless to say I have been working on terrain these last couple weeks, and it has been quite rewarding, and productive.

A while ago I was tackling a block of 20 Death Korps infantrymen. I found myself about half way through hitting that "is it over yet" feeling we all get with huge swaths of unpainted infantry staring back at us.  So I had happened to look over and saw a couple of the Planetstrike Craters just lounging about in the corner that hadn't even received a primer coat yet.
